Directions for use

MIXING WITH SEEDS

CEREALS, FLAX AND DRY BEANS
Directly in the hopper of the auger, in the seeder tank or other container, mix this product evenly with seeds. The application rate is 200 ml of product/hectare (⅓ cup/acre). One 800 g pail of product covers up to 8 ha (20 acres).


FORAGES
Mix this product evenly with seeds at a rate of 400 ml of product/hectare (⅔ cup/acre). One 800 g pail of product covers up to 4 ha (10 acres).


SPECIALTY CROPS
At planting time, mix this product evenly with seeds according to the quantities shown in Table 1.

This product may “bulk up” seeds. It is important to calibrate the seeder to ensure correct seeding rate is attained.

When planting, avoid using this product with wet equipment. Allow the equipment to dry and make sure that all the mechanisms and the piping of the seeder are dry. It is also possible to use a neutral absorbent to absorb excess water.

For optimum results, it is recommended to seed within 8 hours following coating with this product. Ensure proper seed-soil contact to minimize any desiccation of the mycorrhizal inoculant.

INCORPORATION INTO GROWING MEDIA (annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs)

Mix the quantity of product shown in Table 2 into the growing media. For a better homogeneity, it is possible to premix the recommended quantity of product to a part of the growing media or one of the dry ingredients used in its composition. Mix well until homogeneity before filling the trays.

FIELD TRANSPLANTING

VEGETABLE TRANSPLANTS OR BARE-ROOT BERRIES
Just before planting, coat the root plugs or the bare roots with the product. A 800 g pail of product can treat up to 117 000 transplants or 21 300 bare roots (according to plant size).


ASPARAGUS
Just before planting, coat the bottom of the crown with the product. The recommended quantity is 80 ml (38 g) for 1 000 crowns.

Storage and handling

  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Do not freeze or expose to temperatures above 35°C (95°F).
  • Avoid severe temperature variation.
  • Close tightly after use.
  • Respect the best before date on the label.
  • Handle in a well-ventilated area.
  • Product may cause irritation in people with allergies to microorganisms or immunocompromised individuals.
  • Avoid generating dust during manipulation or wear an approved respirator and goggles.
  • Avoid inhalation and direct contact with the eyes and open wounds.
  • If inhaled, provide fresh air.
  • If skin contact, wash with soap and water.
  • If eye contact, rinse the eyes immediately and thoroughly with water.

Plant compatibility 

The following plant families cannot be colonized by the mycorrhizal fungi contained in AGTIV®: Amaranthaceae (amaranths), Brassicaceae (canola, mustard, kales), Caryophyllaceae (carnations), Chenopodiaceae (spinach, beets), Ericaceae (rhododendrons), Orchidaceae (orchids), Polygonaceae (buckwheat).
